For the HP Summer Scholars Sustainability Challenge, my
group was chosen to be in the final six amongst 86 other submissions.
We researched ways
for HP to be more sustainable in industrial 3D printing using newer plastics like biodegradable
PHA instead of industry norms of PLA, ABS, PA11, PA12. This is combined with AI technology to
understand the prints prior to printing to further reduce waste. We also included ways for HP to
reduce its packaging footprint.
